Recital day fun...

Here are some pictures from the recital this weekend. It was so much fun! The girls did great and had lots of fun. Jasy didn't get nervous at all and she even asked to do it again next year however she didn't understand why they didn't give out medals afterwards. She said that part stunk! Eve had her game face on during her performance, lol. No smile for her. What can I say, their blood just bleeds gymnastics after all?!

First ever dance recital...

To all my friends and family....You are invited to my girls first ever dance recital! It is exciting to us BC my girls have never done anything other than gymnastics really. One time Eve played T-ball when she was 4 and 5. She was actually REALLY good at it! When she would get up to bat the other coaches would tell their team to move back, lol. She could nail that ball! She was a pretty good fielder too, when she wasn't doing cartwheels. Her daddy really wants her to play softball but she just doesn't want to give up gymnastics to do so. Then she played soccer one season. She gave that up after one season when she got whammed in the face and knocked over with the ball from a "9 year old". She was 5. Jasy has never done anything other than gymnastics. I started them both at it when they were 2, Jasy was 2 1/2 when she got to start. I think that Jasy would be a wham up soccer player BC that girl has some skill kicking, and dribbling balls but she doesn't want to play. When I came up with the idea of them doing ballet for a year to see if they liked it, they both were up for it and super excited! Jasy fell in love with it for a good two months and did it all the time! She is really good at it! She follows instructions really well, has learned all the positions taught, and looks absolutely adorable spinning around in her little tu -tus!! Does a Mama good! Eve had to do a combo class where they teach them half ballet and half jazz. She also had to start in a advanced class BC it's the only class time that would fit her 14 1/2 hour gymnastics training schedule. I was a little worried, well a lot worried about the jazz aspect and her catching on. Not as much with the ballet BC with gymnastics she already incorporates a lot of the ballet into her routines so she should be comfortable there. Her teacher assured me that she would catch on fast with her training background. For the most part she has. I do have to say that her ballet is GORGEOUS!!!! She has those long lines, and her gymnastics has really paid off there! Her jazz is another story. She is so used to being taught to be "tight" in gymnastics that she can't loosen up enough in her jazz. Don't get me wrong, she has the steps down, she has the beat down, but the "form" is just not there. She is so tight that if you went up to her and tried to knock her over she would not even budge lol. I guess if she decides to do cheer leading one day she will have that tightness that they need. So... we are super excited to watch our sweet little ones dance for a change. However, when I asked them if they wanted to continue with dance or gymnastics (it's just too much doing both) they both chose gymnastics hands down. Not that I don't love gymnastics, BC I do! But it has been nice having that little change for this year. So... now you understand why this recital is so important to us this year. It will probably be our last. :(

Tuesday tidbits...

Jason has his last day of school tonight!!! Oh yeah, it's my birthday!!! Oh yeah... he can cut grass!!! Just kidding but I am super excited to have him at home for a change, so are the girls!! Things have been a bit crazy this year. No more typing up papers until fall! Yippee!! I am also counting down until school gets out! 16 more days you know and 3 of those are half days! I can do it, I can do it! 4th grade has been a rather challenging year for Eve and I! She has amazing teachers that challenge them to the fullest and I am so thankful for all the hard work and effort that they have taken with those students. BUT...she has had 4 to 5 tests a week,  homework in at least 2 subjects Monday through Thursday and 5 projects this year!!! Whew.... all I can do to keep up with it all.  We study going down the road, we study at the table, we study getting ready, we study on the couch, we study in our sleep!!!!!!!! Between typing Jason's outlines, research papers, and Eve's tests, homework and projects you better believe that this Mama is smarter than a 5th grader now!!! Geez....

On another note...I was thinking earlier how random I am. I really am. I am not the ordinary mother/wife/person. Let me feel you in on the scoop on my daily dos;
  • I don't ever go to the grocery store. You can say I have a shopping assistant. Since Jason works in grocery stores for Pepsi, I give him lists and have him pick up what I need. Almost every morning I call him on the way to work and add to it. "Get milk, toothpaste, toilet paper, apples, etc". Isn't that nice?! I should be famous!
  • We eat supper at 3:45 every day. We have to. With Jason swinging by the house with just enough time to change and scarf down dinner, and Eve going to gymnastics everyday we have to eat early.
  • I tell Jasy that if she doesn't let me wash her blankie that it will grow legs and walk away. I am bad aren't I?!
  • I call the students at school by other kids names all the time. It's really hard to remember every child's name in the school!! I just tell them it's BC I am old and senile and that I can't help it. So most of the time I just call them "girlfriend" or "cutie".
  • I don't set my alarm clock myself. I let Jason do it BC setting my alarm clock depresses me! It's better to be "surprised" every morning when it goes off.
  • I'm always getting odd and end jobs to help pay our expenses. One time I assembled Angel magnets at home, I sold vacuum cleaners, I sold Party Lite candles, I instructed Kickboxing at a gym, I set up appointments for an Insurance company, and now my latest, I am posting ads for a local company who sells items for companies or individuals. They mainly sell for businesses that go out of business, or for people who are moving or cleaning out their garage who need to get rid of things. I found it online and it turns out that their daughter goes to Upstate Gymnastics with Eve and Jasy! I have been praying for God to show me something to help out) :) I havent' sold anything yet, but I just started last week. Aren't my jobs so random!? Here's their website-http://www.movethatstuffsc.com/ If you need some chandeliers, latterns, doors, desks, nursery furniture, pictures, microwaves, sinks, washers, wall art, chairs, lunchroom trays, etc-I might be your girl! :) Just saying... Who knows... oneday I might be delivering pizza to homes, lol.

Okay, that's enough for now. I just wanted to share some tidbits of why I think that I am so random!! I need my own show! lol.

Mothers day Chap stick...

A friend of mine shared this story with me today. I thought it was a typical Mothers Day gift for sure! Enjoy a good laugh! Here's her story in her words...

"We had this great 10-year-old cat named Jack who just recently died. Jack was a great cat and the kids would carry him around and sit on him and nothing ever bothered him. He used to hang out and nap all day long on the bathroom mat. We have 3 kids, at the time of this story, they were 4 years old, 3 years old and 1 year old. The middle one is Eli. Eli really loved chap stick, LOVED it. He kept asking to use my chap stick and then losing it. Finally one day, I showed him where in the bathroom that I kept my chap stick. I explained he could use it whenever he wanted but he needed to put it right back in the drawer after he finished because I used it sometimes several times a day. That year, on Mother's Day, we were having the typical rush around to try to get ready for church with everyone crying and carrying on. My two boys were fighting over the toy in the cereal box. I am trying to nurse my little one at the same time I am putting on my make-up. Everything is a mess and everyone has long forgotten that this is a wonderful day to honor me and the amazing job that is motherhood. We finally have the older one and the baby loaded in the car, and I am looking for Eli. I have searched everywhere and I finally go into the bathroom. There was Eli. He was applying my chap stick very carefully to Jack's rear end. Eli looked right into my eyes and said "chapped..." Now if you have a cat, you know that he is right - their little bottoms do look pretty chapped. And, frankly, Jack didn't seem to mind. And, the only question to ask at that point was whether it was the FIRST time Eli had done that to the cat's behind or the hundredth!?! And THAT is my favorite Mother's Day moment ever, because it reminds us that no matter how hard we try to civilize these glorious little creatures, there will always be that day when you realize.... they've been using your chap stick on the cat's butt."

Bible V's Cellphone...

                          V'S

Ever wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our cell phone? What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets? What if we flipped through it several times a day? What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it? What if we used it to receive messages from the text? What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it? What if we gave it to Kids as gifts? What if we used it when we traveled?(we'd be asked to deplane!) What if we used it in case of emergency? This is something to make you go....hmm...where is my Bible? Oh, and one more thing. Unlike our cell phone, we don't have to worry about our Bible being Disconnected because Jesus already paid the bill. Makes you stop and think 'where are my priorities? And no dropped calls! When Jesus died on the cross, He was thinking of you!

I read this today and thought I would share... it really makes a lot of sense! We are so caught up in the "things of the world", little gadgets, technology, etc that we loose sight on what is really important! Without that Holy Book, we would be lost! Sure a lot of our cellphones even have gps's nowadays, but nothing like the one that is in that black book!  :)
